When Coral planned their 50th birthday celebration at Sandown Racecourse, they wanted entertainment that was bold, different, and capable of engaging a crowd of 20,000 attendees. The challenge was to create something that had never been done before – a mobile DJ rig that allowed a professional DJ to perform while roaming through the venue.

This wasn’t about building a stage or installing sound in one area – it was about taking the music directly to the people. Coral needed an activation that was both functional and spectacular, and they turned to Events by Knight to bring the vision to life.

What We Did

Our creative producer, Kwame Knight, masterminded the concept and led the team in designing and producing a custom-built roaming DJ rig. This wasn’t something you could buy off the shelf – it had to be imagined, engineered, and built completely from scratch.

The rig was designed to be:

• Wearable and mobile – A harness allowed the DJ to move freely through crowds.
• Fully functional – Equipped with professional decks and sound.
• Lightweight but durable – Strong enough to handle movement while staying comfortable for the DJ.
• On-brand and eye-catching – Sleek in design to reflect Coral’s celebratory theme.
